Namibia – large-scale solar energy and battery storage integration

In Namibia, a large-scale solar energy project was developed to enhance regional electricity supply and sustainability. The project involved the construction and deployment of over 150 MW of solar energy capacity, integrated with battery storage technology to ensure grid stability and optimize energy distribution. 

By employing a modular approach, the system allows for phased expansion and adaptability to changing energy demands. The project was executed under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), ensuring financial and operational  stability while adhering to national and international regulatory requirements.

Zimbabwe – High-voltage energy solution for the mining sector

A mining operation in Zimbabwe required a dedicated high-voltage energy solution to support its critical infrastructure. The project delivered a fully containerized high-voltage power distribution system, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply to the site. Two 8MVA transformer containers were installed, providing stable and efficient energy transmission, while  a 15MVA diesel generator park was integrated to offer additional backup capacity. A sophisticated SCADA monitoring system was implemented to allow remote energy management and real-time operational adjustments.

A hybrid solar and battery storage system was installed, combining on-site solar power generation with an advanced battery backup solution. To enhance operational reliability, a 6MVA generator was deployed as a secondary power source. The project also featured a SCADA monitoring system, enabling automated energy distribution and optimization. A detailed grid impact study was conducted to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to mitigate potential power fluctuations affecting the local network.

Modular battery storage solutions were incorporated to enable scalability and to meet the dynamic energy needs of supply chain operations.

East Africa – Utility-scale solar energy development

A 50 MW solar energy project was developed in East Africa to supply power to a regional utility provider. This large-scale initiative involved full engineering, regulatory approvals, and seamless grid integration. A modular expansion strategy was implemented to allow for future scalability without requiring significant infrastructure modifications. 

The project was executed under close regulatory supervision, ensuring compliance with national energy policies and international environmental standards.

Quality over Quantity

Since 2022, over 2 billion 440-watt solar panels have been stored across Europe, offering only a 12-year warranty. These lower-efficiency panels are often prioritized due to higher margins, despite their limited performance and shorter lifespan. In contrast, state-of-the-art 720-watt panels provide significantly higher efficiency, with a 30-year product warranty. By using fewer panels and inverters, these advanced solutions not only lead to faster project delivery with fewer people, but also result in improved quality and lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) due to simplified maintenance and longer-lasting performance. Quality truly leads to a smarter, more sustainable energy future.
